NOTA PRESS is brand new and is open for submissions for two different projects right now. These are both going to be collections of shorter pieces. See below for details!
Email rbc.elliott@gmail.com with the name of the project (Survival Guide or Game Books) in the subject line, and include a proposal of what you are thinking of writing/making/doing, along with any parts that are already written/made/done. This can be a work in progress and we can work together on the final design, or you might have an already completed work that would be a good fit for one of these projects.
There is no deadline as of right now, and submissions will be accepted on a rolling basis.

Survival Guide
What do we need to survive? Practical and impractical instructions for surviving, manuals, how-tos, etc, and more oblique interpretations of the theme are welcome. We will bring these contributions together on a website, as well as in a print edition.
Constraints: Must fit into/onto a half-letter size (8.5” x 5.5”), from 1-24 pages. Folding and unusual binding are ok! Or simply a written or drawn piece (or other media, video, sound, etc if it can be represented in a printed object and linked online). 1-2 colors in print.

Game Books
What games can a reader and writer play together, inside a printed text? We will be making a series of short, pamphlet-sized things, and we’re looking for books-as-games, games-as-books, interactive short fiction, choose-your-path poems, etc. Points of departure could be the “Choose Your Own Adventure” series, or other game books, nonlinear novels, and experiments translating hypertext into print.
Works should fit onto no more than two 11×17 sheets (which can be folded/cut/stitched (for example, that could be 4 double-sided letter size pages, 16 double-sided half-letter pages, etc, or some other shape (don’t worry too much about this unless you want to, we’ll figure it out together))). Color or black & white text and images are fine.
